Man accused of killing Lorenzen Wright to face trial Jan. 2022

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - The man accused of killing basketball star Lorenzen Wright appeared in court Wednesday for the first time in over a year due.
Billy Ray Turner is now set to go on trial for Wright’s murder on January 31, 2022. He’s accused of killing Wright 11 years ago and is charged with first-degree murder.
Turner was previously set to go on trial in September of 2019 but the trial was reset for October 2020 and was delayed again because of the pandemic.
