SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - Here’s a breakdown of cases in Missouri, Arkansas, and the Ozarks region.

Missouri: 1,157,462 Total Positive Cases (Includes breakthrough infections); 16,171 Deaths; (as of 4 p.m. Friday, May 20/ Missouri reporting weekly/Missouri does not report recoveries)

Missouri added 6,361 cases for the week ending May 18. The state added nine new deaths.

  • Greene County (Daily Count Monday through Friday): 71,935 Cases

Missouri has stopped reporting daily numbers for individual counties. The numbers below go through March 31.

Arkansas: 840,151 Total Positive Cases; 11,432 Deaths; 58 Hospitalizations; 825,467 Recoveries (as of 4 p.m. Friday, May 20).

Arkansas reported 315 new cases on Friday. The state added six new deaths.

Simple preventive actions that help prevent the spread of all types of respiratory viruses include:

· Avoid close contact with people who are sick.

· Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.

· Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol if soap and water are not available.
