JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) - A 21-year-old man is free on bond after police said he impregnated an 11-year-old girl.

Jonesboro investigators arrested Tommy Jaleel Wallace of Marion on a bench warrant after a judge found probable cause to charge him with rape/sexual intercourse with a person less than 14 years of age.

According to court documents, Wallace admitted to detectives he had sexual intercourse with the girl at her sister’s apartment in Jonesboro.

During a forensic interview, the victim said she got pregnant and “was taken by her parents to Memphis Choices for an abortion.”

On June 1, Craighead County District Court Judge David Boling found probable cause to charge Wallace and issued a bench warrant for his arrest.

On Wednesday, June 8, Wallace made his first appearance in district court. Judge Tommy Fowler ordered he be held on a $75,000 cash/surety bond and issued a no-contact order.

Just after 3:30 p.m., Wallace bonded out of the Craighead County Detention Center.
