JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) - A 38-year-old Jonesboro woman who suffered serious injuries when police said a pickup truck hit her has died.

According to the family of Carol Mucherson, she was taken off life support on Thursday, Jan. 19.

Mucherson was in the hospital following the crash that occurred at 2:20 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 15, at the intersection of East Johnson Avenue and State Street.

A report from the Jonesboro Police Department said when Officer Cameron Harrison arrived at the scene, he reported seeing “multiple people standing in the street” with an unconscious woman lying in the roadway.

According to the report, Mucherson suffered a compound fracture to her left leg, a broken femur, and a cut to her forehead. She was taken to NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital. According to a desk sergeant, she was later airlifted to a Memphis hospital in critical condition.

The incident report identified a possible suspect as a 62-year-old Bono man driving a white 1998 Toyota T100 pickup truck. So far, no charges have been filed.
