I-55 lanes reopened following police incident

MISSISSIPPI COUNTY, Ark. (KAIT) - The Arkansas Department of Transportation reports Interstate 55 is back open after a police incident stopped traffic.

ARDOT said the incident had forced the closure of all lanes at the 37.5-mile marker southbound near Joiner and diverted northbound traffic to State Highway 118 at Exit 34 around 1 p.m. Thursday.

Arkansas State Police said a standoff happened around 1 p.m. on Interstate 55 after a police chase.

ARDOT reported the highway reopened around 3:40 p.m.
