DONIPHAN, Mo. (KFVS) - A shooting in Doniphan on Tuesday afternoon, September 10 is no longer under investigation.

According to police, officers were called around 2:47 p.m. to Apricot Street to a report of a gunshot victim.

Doniphan Police said on Wednesday that their investigation shows the shooting was an accidental self-inflicted injury.

During the initial stages of the investigation, police advised Doniphan R-1 Schools to go on lockdown as a precautionary measure because of the location of the incident.

Police said no children or staff were in danger.

The lockdown was lifted around 3:05 p.m. after police said they secured the scene.
