Red Wolves tennis falls to Troy

JONESBORO, Ar - The Arkansas State women's tennis team (11-6, 3-3 SBC) fell to Troy (9-5, 4-1 SBC) in a 5-2 decision at Allen Park Sunday to end a seven-match winning streak.

ASU took the doubles point, winning two of the three doubles matches.  Jenny Herring and Emily Laing topped Troy's Rawia Elsisi and Leonie Guijt 8-2, while Paula Chelminska and Elné Barnard downed Mirte de Bakker and Stephanie Vieira 8-3.

Chelminska was the only Red Wolf to win in singles play.  She topped de Bakker in straight sets 7-5, 6-4.
