Memphis counting on trio to toughen up Grizzlies

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - The Memphis Grizzlies think they got more defensive and tougher in Thursday night's draft.

They drafted 7-foot-3 Hasheem Thabeet of Connecticut with the second pick.

The team also drafted DeMarre Carroll of Missouri at No. 27 and Sam Young of Pittsburgh in the second round.

Their presence on the court can only help a team already featuring Rudy Gay, O.J. Mayo, Mike Conley and Marc Gasol.
