Nine People Killed in a Fatal

NEW YORK (AP) - Rescuers are in the water after a crash in the skies over New York City's Hudson River.

A fixed wing aircraft and a tour company helicopter collided over the Hudson River around noon today, killing at least one and spreading a debris field across the Hudson River.

Initial reports indicate debris, including a wheel, have washed up at the New Jersey shore. One witness says when she saw a midair collision between a small plane and a sightseeing helicopter over the Hudson just after noon today, she thought it was her imagination. Authorities say all nine people on board both crafts likely died.
