Woman's body found in Sweet Home

SWEET HOME, AR (AP) - The Pulaski County Sheriff's office says a body found in a shallow grave near Sweet Home is believed to be that of a missing 25-year-old woman and that her boyfriend has been arrested for her death.

Sheriff's Lt. Carl Minden said Thursday the remains are believed to be those of Roshunda Bates, who was reported missing Monday by her mother. Authorities are awaiting confirmation from the State Crime Lab.

Deputies arrested 25-year-old Kevin Brown on Thursday for capital murder in Bates' death and say he told them he killed her because he believed she had given him the virus that causes AIDS.

Brown is being held in the Pulaski County jail. It was not clear whether he had yet hired an attorney.
