FULTON COUNTY, AR (KAIT) – A Region 8 man has been found guilty of murder and sentenced to life in prison.

According to the Fulton County Circuit Court's Office, Richard T. Gordon was found guilty of murdering Joseph Clifton in September 2009.

The Fulton County Sheriff's Department says that on September 3, 2009, Joseph Clifton was shot to death on Hidden Wood Trail.

Police investigators say Gordon shot Clifton in the cab of his truck with his 2-year-old son sat strapped in a safety seat. The boy was not harmed.

Investigators found tractor tire marks and numerous shoe prints at the scene that matched Richard Gordon. Gordon's wife told police Richard confessed to her that he shot Clifton to death over a land dispute. He said he did not call for help for the child because he was scared.
