JONESBORO, AR (KAIT)- The Johnny Cash Music Festival will be filled with county stars Thursday, and Wednesday some of them spoke to the media about the upcoming event.
Kris Kristopherson, Rodney Crowell and Cash's son John Carter Cash were on hand to field questions about the event at the ASU Convocation Center.
During the press conference John Carter Cash said the event isn't just about the music. He said, "We are here to celebrate the history of my father's music, but not only that it's about rebuilding here. It's about giving strength back to the community." The community Cash is referring to is where his father grew up as a boy in the Dyess Colony located in Mississippi County.
Over 7,000 tickets have already been sold, but there are tickets still available. The Johnny Cash Music Festival will take place Thursday night 7 p.m. at the Convocation Center.
