LITTLE ROCK, AR - The Arkansas Board of Education meets today to work through issues, including desegregation, in small school districts affected by a new education reform law.

The new law required school districts with fewer than 350 students to merge their administration with other districts.  The board has been reviewing the merger proposals and has identified those involving desegregation questions or problems finding partners.

Today, the board will look at proposals concerning Biggers-Reyno, Carthage, Delaplaine, Holly Grove, Huttig, Lake View and Sparkman.

Tomorrow, the board takes up Crawfordsville, Grady, Gould, Mount Holly and Union.
