FORREST CITY, AR (KAIT) – Over the weekend, a disc jockey was arrested after refusing to turn his music down at an officer's request.
According to the Forrest City Police Department, DJ Bobby Joe Gibbs, 32, of Forrest City, was charged with carrying a firearm in a publicly owned building or facility, theft by receiving firearm, possession firearm incarcerated person, obstructing government operations, carrying a prohibited weapon, loud music, disorderly conduct, and 32 counts of endangering the welfare of a minor.
Police say Gibbs was asked to turn his music down during an event at the Forrest City Civic Center. They go on to say he refused, saying: "That's what I do."
After several more refused requests to lower the volume, Gibbs was arrested, and officers said they found him in possession of a loaded 9mm pistol that was listed as stolen from California.
Gibbs is being held in lieu of $50,000, and his arraignment is scheduled for June 25
