Crawford to donate books to Corning, Greene County libraries

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) – Friday, Congressman Rick Crawfordwill give books to the Corning and Greene County Libraries from the Library ofCongress's Surplus Books Program.

Crawford will visit the Greene County Library inParagould from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. and the Corning Public Library from 11 a.m.to 11:30 a.m.

"I am excited the Greene County and CorningLibraries will be able to benefit from the Library of Congress's Surplus BooksProgram. My staff and I hope we can work with other libraries at home tobenefit from the program," said Crawford. "Libraries are often thefirst place young people begin to learn about their world and the Surplus BooksProgram will help libraries in Arkansas expand their collection."

Through the Surplus Books Program, the Library ofcongress donates a variety of books to public and federal agencies, nonprofitschools, and nonprofit organizations.

Crawford and his staff personally requested the books to be donated.
