JACKSON COUNTY, AR (KAIT)- A Tuckerman police officer was arrested after investigators say he stole and pawned several guns from an Arkansas police organization.

Arkansas State Police said Jon Kevin Wixson was an officer in Tuckerman and Range Chairman of the Arkansas Municipal Police Association (AMPA).

As Range Chairman, Wixson was responsible for ten pistols that belonged to the AMPA.

According to the affidavit, Wixson told the investigating officer he pawned six of the guns.

Documents indicated that one of the pistols was sold to a pawnshop in Newport on Sept. 13, 2011. The serial number on the gun identified it as one belonging to AMPA.

Wixson was charged with theft of property. He was arrested and taken to the Jackson County Jail and was later released.
