2 dead after Pocahontas house fire

POCAHONTAS, AR (KAIT)- A house fire in Pocahontas killed two people Sunday night around 10:15.

Thefire took place at 663 Black River Rd. The cause has not yet been determined,according to Pocahontas Fire Chief Jimmy Shields.

"It was a fairly large fire,"said Shields. "It had already engulfed over half of the house and the vehicleoutside."

Shields said as of now the cause of the fire doesn't lookquestionable.

"Nothing stood out that's suspicious but until we get donewith our investigation, it will be undetermined," he said. "Hopefully, in thenext day or so we should have a cause."

Shields said the fireis still under investigation, and they are working closely with, RandolphCounty Sheriff's Department and Arkansas State Police.
