Woman arrested for bringing gun to factory appears in court

JACKSON COUNTY, AR (KAIT) – A woman arrested in Jackson County for bringing a gun into a factory appeared in court on Wednesday.
Sheriff Davis Lucas said that Crite was arraigned on the charges of Aggravated Assault on a Family or Household member,Kidnapping and seven counts of Aggravated Assault.
According to the Jackson County Sheriff's Office, on Monday, they received a 911 call in reference to woman holding a gun inside the break room of Southwest Steel Processing.
Witnesses told deputies the woman left the scene in a silver car and a man was riding with her.
Deputies then searched for the woman and found her shortly before 3 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 18 and Highway 69.
Deputies found a .380 caliber semi-automatic handgun on the woman. Ashley Michelle Crite, 30, was arrested and taken to the Jackson County Detention Center.
Investigators tell Region 8 News the woman did fire her gun once inside the break room, but no one was injured.
Crite was charged with a felony for aggravated assault on a family or household member and a felony for false imprisonment.
The sheriff's office said the man was a victim in this case and was not injured.
Her bond was set at $500,000. Crite will appear in Jackson County Circuit Court on May 15.
