BLYTHEVILLE, AR (KAIT) - The Blytheville Fire Department is on the scene of a large fire at Goolsby's Recycling Center on Highway 18, according to Fire Chief Mike Carney.

According to Carney, the fire starts sometime around noon on Wednesday. Carney said old tires, vehicle and wood pallets are on fire, but the fire is contained.

Carney told Region 8 News that fire crews will be on the scene for several hours as firefighters known down hot spots. Firefighters are also "shuttling water" to the scene because no fire hydrants are nearby.

Heavy black smoke can be seen for miles, according to Carney.

No other structures are threatened and no injuries have been reported.
