BATESVILLE, AR (KAIT) - A Batesville plant will close down this summer laying off hundreds of Region 8 residents.
ConAgra Foods Communications and External Relations Director Dan Hare said on Friday, they told employees in Batesville it will close in July.
Hare said the decision comes after they assessed the company's operations and found making its product at another location will help them operate efficiently and remain competitive.
This decision will lay off about 250 employees.
Hare said the employees do have the chance to apply at positions in other ConAgra Foods locations or they will be eligible to receive severance benefits once the facility closes.
