BONO, AR (KAIT) - The past month has brought us plenty of rain and while it has caused issues with flooding around the area, it has also helped a few things including Lake Bono.
The lake has taken longer to fill than what the county hoped it would take, but it's finally nearing the desired levels.
The rain also made it difficult for people to access the lake.
Brett Timmons with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission said the rainfall caused the hill to the boat ramp to deteriorate and that will put a hold on more fish stocking.
Timmons said they added 8,000 yearling channel catfish last month and now with a bigger lake, those fish will have more room to grow.
In the event that the lake becomes completely full, the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission will be able to release water using a valve that drains water to a creek below the dam.
