Former member of Black Oak Arkansas dies

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - James "Jimi" Henderson, a former member of the band Black Oak Arkansas, died unexpectedly on March 5.

According to his obituary from the Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home, Henderson was a native of Pearl, MS.

He was recruited by Butch Stone Management to play with Ruby Starr. A year later he joined Black Oak Arkansas and toured as a guitarist.

After the break-up of Black Oak Arkansas, he worked in Illinois and Los Angeles before returning to Jackson, MS.

He was 61 years old.
