Young boy attacked by dog in Blytheville

BLYTHEVILLE, AR (KAIT) - Blytheville police say a pit bull attacked a 7-year-old boy.

The attack happened around 6 p.m. Sunday in the 400-block of Summit Street.

Police said the boy had lacerations on his face and back from the attack.

The child was treated at Great River Medical Center then later transported to LeBonheur Children's Hospital in Memphis, according to the press release.

His condition is unknown at this time.

Blytheville Animal Control took the dog into custody.
