JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Jonesboro Hotel Partners and O'Reilly Hospitality Management announced Tuesday they have received full and final approval from Hilton Worldwide to build a hotel and convention center on the Arkansas State University campus in Jonesboro.
The 202-room Embassy Suites Hotel will feature a Houlihan's Restaurant, as well as a 40,000-square-foot Red Wolf Convention Center.
In March, university officials announced they would build a convention center on campus. At that time, the board of trustees agreed to lease the land to O'Reilly Hospitality.
The project will be located on Red Wolf Boulevard on 11 acres formally known as the "old track."
Construction is expected to begin later this year, according to a news release from O'Reilly Hospitality Management.
