Woman killed as SUV backed up

NEW MADRID, MO (KAIT) - A Missouri woman was killed after being struck by an SUV.
Jane A. Dawson, 59, of New Madrid died Wednesday following the incident, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.
A trooper states it happened at 8:15 p.m. on Kings Highway in New Madrid.
According to the report, George Dawson, also of New Madrid, was backing up a 2016 Ford Escape when he struck Jane Dawson, who was a pedestrian.
She was pronounced dead at the scene by the New Madrid County coroner.
No other injuries were reported.
