CROSS COUNTY, AR (KAIT) - Authorities are still seeking to find out the cause of a fire that burned a $3.7 million home to the ground in Cross County over the weekend.
According to the Cherry Valley Fire Department, they responded to a call around 7:15 p.m. on Sunday.
On Monday, Fire Chief Shane Bell went back to the scene at County Road 331 to determine where the fire started.
He says it's still being investigated.
"Well, that's a good question. All of that is still being determined," he said. "It's getting turned over the State Farm Officer for investigation. We turned it over to the CID officer down here at the County Sheriff's Office, and he's going to forward it to the fire marshal and then we'll go from there."
This weekend, we learned no one was inside the home when the fire broke out.
The Cherry Valley Fire Department also received assistance from surrounding departments to help take out the large fire.
"When we pulled up it was fully engulfed," Bell said. "Totally engulfed in flames."
