BLYTHEVILLE, AR (KAIT) - Police are investigating a man's death after a shooting was reported.

Blytheville police officers were called to the 2200-block of West Rose St. around midnight Friday, according to Criminal Investigation Division Commander Capt. Scott Adams.

Adams stated officers found 23-year-old Delvin Meadows slumped over the front steps of the residence. They rolled the man over and discovered he was dead.

"Officers observed an obvious injury to the upper chest," according to Adams.

A witness told officers they heard gunshots, looked out the window, and saw Meadows on the front step.

Meadows asked the person to call emergency services then he became unresponsive before they arrived, Adams stated.

Anyone with information about the incident is urged to call the Blytheville Police Department at 870-763-4411.
