JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - A man was arrested Tuesday after he reportedly pushed a nurse down a set of stairs at a hospital, Jonesboro police said Wednesday.

Dwayne Stevenson of Jonesboro was arrested on suspicion of second-degree battery after police went to St. Bernards Medical Center. According to a probable cause affidavit, Stevenson was seen fighting with medical staff.

"Stevenson was placed into handcuffs and detained until officers could determine the reason for the aggression and the possible injuries sustained by the medical staff," the affidavit noted.

The nurse sustained a broken left foot, Jonesboro police said.

Stevenson appeared Wednesday before a district judge for a probable cause hearing.

A $1,500 bond was set for Stevenson, who will be arraigned Oct. 31 in circuit court.
