(KAIT) - They say Nero fiddled while Rome burned but he doesn't have anything on a musician who played while receiving surgery.
Anna Henry has been playing the flute for over 50 years. She's also dealt with a hereditary tremor for most of her life and it's affecting how she plays.
But the Mischer Neuroscience Institute in Houston, TX is trying to help her.
A deep brain stimulation procedure could reduce her tremors by 50-90 percent.
During the procedure, she was asked to do a number of tasks which included testing her ability to play the flute without tremors.
The institute tells ABC News the surgery was successful and Henry is recovering at her hotel.
