Greene Co. seeks poll workers for upcoming election season

GREENE COUNTY, AR (KAIT) - The Greene County Clerk's Office is seeking poll workers for the upcoming election season.
It's a paid gigged that includes training.
So far, the county has only secured roughly 30 workers and they are in need of 100 for voting to go smoothly.
"Every polling site has to have at least four worker at least by law and as of now, we may have two," Greene County Election Coordinator Jessica Andrews said.
Andrews said it's crucial to have enough poll workers so voting runs smoothly during election.
To qualify for as a poll worker, you must be a registered voter, a resident of the precinct served by the polling place at the of appointment and attend local poll training.
A poll worker candidate must not have been found guilty of an Arkansas election law, be a paid employee of a political party or an employee of a candidate for office on the county's ballot, be a candidate for an office to be filled at an election while serving as a poll worker, and be married/related within the second degree of consanguinity to a candidate running for office in election.
The pay for training is $25 and $8.50 an hour on Election Day.
