RANDOLPH COUNTY, AR (KAIT) - A new system is making election time a little easier for some county clerk's offices.

Arkansas One Map is being used by several county clerk's offices in Northeast Arkansas.

Randolph County Clerk Rhonda Blevins said her office has been using the new system during early voting.

The new system allows her office to see where residents should be voting and other important information like how many people have voted each day.

She said it also is useful for residents living on county roads.

"There are some that are right on the line," she said.  "Their mailbox may be in one location, but their house is across the street and that can change their precinct."

In the past, her office would need a map and voter registration to verify any of this information.

The new system will also serve an important purpose on election day.

"We can actually pull this up and we can see if they open the polls and if they've not, we want to know why," she said.

She said this allows her office to find out about any problems and quickly seek a solution.

During early voting, the new system has helped the office keep track of how many people have voted in total.

The system also shows what percentage of Randolph County citizens have voted so far.

Blevins said the new system should help simplify some election tasks for her office.
