Small-town park set to get first upgrade in 40 years
BLACK OAK, AR (KAIT) - For the first time in 40 years, the city of Black Oak will receive quite the makeover at its park.
According to Mayor Eddie Dunigan, the city received a parks and recreation grant for $45,000.
Right now, the grass is growing over the basketball court, swings look aged, and some are missing from the sets.
The grant money will provide a new pavilion, basketball court and a handicap accessible play structure.
Community members are excited about the park upgrades and believe they will attract more kids to the playground.
