JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - The Butterfly Ranch Women's Center in Swifton held its largest fundraiser of the year Saturday.
The non-profit provides a 10 to 12-month program to help women overcome substance abuse and addiction.
On Saturday night, the community gathered to enjoy an evening of encouragement.
A former Butterfly Ranch graduate shared her success story with the crowd, and current women in the program shared songs of encouragement.
Businesses across the area also donated items of all sorts for a live auction.
Mark Duncan, director of the ranch, expressed his thanks to everyone who played a role in making the event successful.
"It just means a lot to me to know that the people are willing to come out and support this," Duncan said. "I also want to make sure that I give the credit and the glory to Jesus Christ, you know he's the main reason for our program. He's the heart of what we do."
The money raised will help support classroom curriculum and everyday operation at the ranch.
Duncan told Region 8 News they currently house 15 women striving to overcome addiction with three open beds at the time.
