CAVE CITY, AR (KAIT) - The Cave City Watermelon Festival drew hundreds to the area from all over the country for the sweetness of the Cave City watermelon.

The three-day event includes over 90 vendors, live music, food, and of course, watermelon.

"I did a few festivals earlier this year. My son picked this one to come to because he loves watermelon," said festival-goer Johnnie Copeland.

On Saturday, there is a parade, music performances, and even a watermelon selfie contest.

"We're going to walk around and see the sites and before we leave, we're going to buy watermelons," said attendee LaVerne Nutt-Wilson.

The free watermelon feast is at 4:00 p.m., followed by a prize melon auction.
