Independence County (KAIT/KARK) - A missing woman's car shows up nearly three weeks after her family says she vanished.

Our NBC partner in Little Rock, KARK, spoke with the Independence County Sheriff's Office. They say Brooke Allensworth's car was found abandoned under a rural bridge last Friday.

The mother of three was last seen near Newark and Oil Trough. Allensworth's dad told us his daughter was at a salon getting her nails and hair done the day before vanishing.

Her father filed a missing person report last Thursday with Searcy police.

The Independence County Sheriffs Department found the car the next day.

"It looks like she broke down had a flat, left the car, and someone comes thru and she left." Sheriff Shawn Stephens said.

Since Monday, the Independence County Sheriff's Office filed a separate missing person report.

"Searcy Police Department contacted us Monday saying they'd filed one, however she wasn't entered into the state system as being missing." said Stephens, "In order for her to be entered there has to be a report, so we did one that way we can get her entered. That way if any law enforcement agency runs her she'll show up as a missing person."

On Thursday Independence County had a 22-person search party looking for Allensworth both on the river and in the woods near where her car was found.

Jackson County has also been searching the river and land from the Newport area up to the county line.

An airplane was used to search the area on Wednesday and Thursday, and cadaver dogs were brought out Thursday evening.

"We're wanting to cover all of our bases that way we know for sure that we've done everything possible that we can do to try and locate her." said Stephens.

So far, Sheriff Stephens said they do not have any leads, and cannot rule anything out.

"What few leads we've gotten we've looked into, and we've run into dead ends." said Stephens, "We haven't found anything. We haven't found anything to suggest foul play, but any information is welcome. We want people to call us and if they have any information we'll definitely look into it."

If you have seen Allensworth or known anything about this case, call the police at 870-793-8838.
