Region 8 Projects to Get Healthy Share of Federal Highway Funds

LITTLE ROCK, AR - The Federal Highway Administration said Monday that it was awarding $22 million in federal grants for 207 scenic highway projects.  The grants will be used for projects such as scenic overlooks, visitor information centers, pedestrian trails, bike paths, safety upgrades, and educational and promotional materials.

Northeast Arkansas projects include the implementation of corridor management for the Crowley's Ridge Parkway ($25,000), and visitor kiosks at Wynne for the Parkway ($200,640).

Other projects include the implementation of corridor managment for the Arkansas Great River Road, and a visitor center for the Mississippi River State Park.
