CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO - The Cape Girardeau School District is taking a look at the possibility of year-round school.
The board wants the district's administrators to consider the move as part of a new, five-year comprehensive plan. A steering committee reviewed the strategic plan with the school board and school administrators for three hours last night.
One recommendation calls for more instructional time. The proposed plan suggests longer school days or an extended school.
Board member Laura Sparkman says year-round school would eliminate months of reviewing the previous year's course work at the beginning of each new school year.
