Former Rockabilly Star, Politician Bobby Lee Trammell Dies

JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - Region 8 News has learned that former state Representative and current Craighead County Quorum Court member Bobby Lee Trammell of Jonesboro has died.  Trammell died last night at his home in Jonesboro.  He was 74.

Trammell rose to regional fame as a rockabilly musician in the fifties and sixties.  Later in life, he entered the political realm, and served terms in both the Arkansas House of Representatives as well as the Craighead County Quorum Court.

Funeral services for Mr. Trammell are set for Saturday morning at 10 at the Roller-Farmers Union Funeral Home in Jonesboro.  Burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery.  Visitation will be held Friday evening from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pall bearers will include Judge Dale Haas, former state lawmaker Jerry Allison and members of the Craighead County Quorum Court.
