Pocahontas Nears Flood Stage, Black River May Peak Today

POCAHONTAS, AR (KAIT) - If you drive through Pocahontas, you will inevitably see Black River. However, residents near Pocahontas are seeing more of it than they would like as water levels rise to near-flooding levels.
Houses located along the Current River near Pocahontas are dangerously near being washed away.
High rains have swollen the Current and Black River in Pocahontas to near flood stage. The Black is only six inches away from flood stage.
Black River could possibly peak sometime today.
