Woman arrested for burning rebel flag

CARUTHERSVILLE, MO (KAIT) - A woman is due in court in late June after police say she stole and burned a Confederate flag.

Early Tuesday morning, Caruthersville Police were called to a home in the 1000 block of Beckwith where the owner claimed someone had stolen their rebel flag.

A short time later, officers found Christina Overturf burning the flag in her front yard. She was arrested and charged with stealing, property damage and burning in city limits.
