BATESVILLE, AR (KAIT) - Batesville firefighters evacuated customers at Josie's Steakhouse after a fire broke out Saturday night.

Fire Chief Brent Gleghorn said the department is investigating the cause of the fire, but based on the damage he knows it started in the attic hours before.

According to the Batesville Fire Department, they were called out to the business located on the east side of the White River at around 11:10 p.m.

When they arrived, the fire had spread to the restaurant's rafters and ceiling.

The fire department said although there was a private party going on when the fire started spreading, there were no injuries.

Chief Gleghorn said at the minimum Josie's will need a new roof, so it could be months before the building is fully rehabilitated.

The restaurant's owner said he is waiting to hear from his insurance so they can move forward with the repairs.
