‘I would like my vehicle’: Woman says her car was stolen from driveway by unmarked tow truck
CLEVELAND, Ohio. (WOIO/Gray News) - A woman in Ohio says her car was stolen right out of her driveway by an unmarked tow truck and she has no leads as to who took it.
Brittany Ealey says her car has been gone for a week now, and with no leads, she’s running out of options.
Ealey manages a property on Delavan Avenue on Cleveland’s East Side. And on the morning of March 7, a tow truck came into the yard and took her black 2015 Nissan Rogue.
“I’m not sure if it’s a company,” said Ealey. “It looks like a private vehicle.”
A small silver lining is Ealey was able to get video of the crime. She said even though the video is grainy, she’s hoping someone can help her get her car back.
“It’s not under repossession, also it’s not in the impound,” said Ealey. “I thought the city thought the property was vacant and they removed it.”
However, that wasn’t the case.
Ealey said she called Cleveland police and filed a report, hoping they could use street cameras to track down her car or the tow truck.
“I don’t care if they leave it on the corner somewhere,” said Ealey. “I would like my vehicle.”
Call Cleveland police at 216-621-1234 if you recognize the truck or have any tips on this crime.
