Pyrotechnics set up for fireworks spectacle
JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) - With Fourth of July festivities throughout Northeast Arkansas and America, one could wonder how much goes into setting up fireworks.
With Freedom Fest resting on his shoulders, Scott Berry and his Premier Pyrotechnics team worked hard to make sure Freedom Fest is the best to date.
“We have quite a bit larger show, we have a lot more pyrotechnics,” Berry explained. “We have a very well-scheduled finale for this show that is going to look fantastic.”
A show like Freedom Fest takes two different days to put it all together between setting the fuses and hooking everything up to a computer so it can be synchronized.
“To get everything right, there’s not a part that can be missing. All the matches have to be in, they have to be checked. Everything has to be set up; it’s got to be set up in time to get the computer checking done,” Berry said.
Berry and his team went all out by adding 2,600 individual shots for the show, about 1,000 more than the year prior.
“For this show, the electric matches, we have to individually wire each one to each shell, plug it into the computer modules, and it’s completely different than how a consumer would light their fireworks,” Berry said.
For Berry, his favorite part is seeing the show they create, and seeing the crowd that comes out to watch.
“I hope they can really feel the connection that we put into the choreography between the music and fireworks,” Berry said. “If you really get into it, you can really feel the passion that we put into these choreographed shows so they are as good as possible.”
