Information sought after couple found dead in home
CLAY COUNTY, Ark. (KAIT) - Sheriff’s investigators are asking the public to contact them after a couple was found dead in a Clay County home.
Sheriff Ronnie Cole said his office was contacted around 7:51 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 2, to perform a welfare check at a home on 5th Street in Knobel.
“The caller advised they had not been able to make contact with the individuals for several days,” Cole said in a news release.
When a deputy arrived, he was unable to get anyone to answer the door and forced entry into the home.
After entering, he found a man and a woman dead inside.
Cole said their bodies were sent to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory in Little Rock for autopsy and positive identification.
On Tuesday, Sept. 9, Cole said the man had been positively identified as 69-year-old Dewey Ramsey.
However, the sheriff said they were awaiting DNA tests to confirm the identity of the woman, who is suspected to be 45-year-old Tina Keas.
Cole said the cause of death should be released in the coming days.
He asks anyone who might have “any information” regarding this incident to contact his office at 870-598-2270.
