JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) - Competitors lined up at Arkansas State University for a long race filled with obstacles and other challenges.

Howl’s Heroes hosted their 13th annual obstacle course: “The Howler.”

The Howler features a course with more than 16 different obstacles. Some of them involve pushing a Humvee or walking through a mud pit.

Teams win by completing the course in the shortest time.

Members of the A-State ROTC program helped with the event.

Organizers say it pushes the participants’ strength, endurance, and teamwork to the limit.

National Guard and A-State ROTC member Cadet Kyle Johnson said he loves seeing everyone come out.

“It’s awesome. This has been one of our best years so far, and everybody is so excited to be here, which is really cool. It’s a really cool thing, you raise money and do a run with your friends, so it’s a good time,” Johnson said.

The money raised goes to helping future military leaders.
