Total Nutrition expands supplement recall for salmonella risks
(Gray News) - A nationwide recall of dietary supplements containing moringa powder is expanding.
Total Nutrition said additional TNT Vitamins and Doctor’s Pride Ultra Potent Complete Green Superfood Moringa capsules have been added to the recall.
According to the Food and Drug Administration, the capsules may be contaminated with salmonella.
A supply chain review linked more lots of the products to the same raw material involved in the original recall.
The products were sold online on Amazon, Walmart and Target, on TikTok and on the company’s websites.
The recalled supplements were sold in white bottles with white caps and contained 120 capsules. The recently added lots can be identified by lot numbers 2725 and 2503104; all have an expiration date of April 2027.
The FDA said the supplements may be implicated in its ongoing investigation into a multistate salmonella outbreak linked to dietary supplements containing imported moringa leaf powder.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which is also investigating the salmonella outbreak, said there have been 119 reported illnesses, 32 of which resulted in hospitalizations.
Consumers are advised to stop using the recalled supplements, dispose of them and contact the company for a refund.
