LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KAIT/KARK) - After one year of Arkansas’ new crypto-mining law, changes are already being discussed.

According to our content partner, KARK, Arkansas lawmakers authorized a study to see what changes they can make to the law following concerns over the past year.

“What the bill was, was really kind of a preemption bill that says hey local control exists,” said sponsor of Act 851, Sen. Joshua Bryant. “Once they’re up and operated, you can’t just back down and shut them down.”

Bryant said any changes to the law would more than likely come through some amendments in 2025.
