Former mayoral candidate to endorse candidate for runoff
JONESBORO, Ark. (KAIT) - A former candidate who ran in the 2024 Jonesboro Mayoral race has decided to endorse a candidate in the upcoming runoff.
According to a social media post, Jeremy Terrell will endorse LJ Bryant for the Dec. 3 runoff election.
Terrell did not specifically explain why he was endorsing Bryant; however, he questioned if Copenhaver had done a good enough job over the past four years.
Terrell expresses his opinions in the video stating, “Again, I believe that the current mayor being a nice guy a good husband, good father, I don’t believe he’s done a great job in the last four years on these things, and I believe when we vote people in, we expect them to do a great job.”
On Nov. 12, Thomas Elwood said he was endorsing incumbent Mayor Harold Copenhaver.
The runoff election will be held Tuesday, Dec. 3.
Early voting will be held at the Craighead County Election Annex, 315 West Jefferson, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26, through Monday, Dec. 2.
