Olivia Hussey Eisley, star of ‘Romeo and Juliet,’ dead at 73

(CNN) - Hollywood is mourning the loss of actress Olivia Hussey Eisley.

According to a social media post, Eisley was surrounded by her loved ones when she died Thursday.

She shot to fame in the 1968 adaptation of Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet,” where she played Juliet.

Her performance of the star-crossed lover earned her a Golden Globe award.

Eisley later starred in the 1974 horror film “Black Christmas,” as well as “Death on the Nile.”

She is survived by her three children, her husband of 35 years and a grandson.

Eisley was 73 years old.
