Man charged with murder after victim dies following bar fight

MIDLAND, Texas (KOSA/Gray News) - A 24-year-old man is charged with murder after the victim in a bar fight last month died.

Midland Police Department said officers responded to a disturbance around 1:10 a.m. in late February. They found a man unconscious in the street.

Police said the victim’s wife identified the suspect as Matthew Ramos, who was later arrested.

Ramos admitted to assaulting the victim, according to authorities.

The victim was taken to the hospital with serious bodily injuries and later died.

Ramos was initially charged with aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury and evading arrest. The charges have now been upgraded to murder.

His total bond is set at $705,000.
